Auto Repair and Tires in Port Coquitlam
Wet roads and commuter kilometres keep PoCo's repair bays busy. Here is the lay of the land, from the McLean Avenue belt to the tire, glass and transmission specialists.

A commuter town is hard on cars. PoCo sends a steady stream of vehicles down the Lougheed Highway and the Mary Hill Bypass every morning, and the wet months keep the roads slick for half the year, which is exactly the regime that wears out brakes, tires and wipers. The city's repair trade is built for it. The bays cluster on the industrial streets north of the rail line, where the rent is right and the tow trucks can work, and the specialists fill in around them. Knowing which bay does what is half of getting a fair deal.
The McLean Avenue belt is the core of the map. BDL Automotive Service & Repair and Car Talk Auto Repair share the 1870 block, two general-repair shops that between them cover the everyday work of the city: brakes, suspension, oil, diagnostics, and the repairs that come with keeping a commuter car alive. Pixel Auto Body Shop works the body-and-paint end from the 1970 block of the same street, and the belt's logic is simple: drop the car in the morning, walk or catch a ride, and pick it up when the work is done.
The Broadway side adds its own bays. DG Motorsport runs out of the Broadway Street belt, and Used Tires Port Coquitlam covers the budget tire end from the same stretch, which is where a lot of the city's second sets come from. Over on the Lougheed corridor, Mark's Auto Body handles collision work, and W.D.C Auto carries the west-side end of the general-repair trade. These rooms differ in style, but they share the PoCo pattern: independent, hands-on, and busy enough that a phone call beats a drive-by.
The specialists complete the map. Bert's Transmissions does the gearbox work that general shops refer out, Spinners Auto Glass handles windshields and glass from its Sherling Place address, and Waxed Monkey rounds out the list with the detailing end, because a commuter car deserves to come clean once in a while. If your problem is one of these three, call the specialist directly rather than paying a general shop to coordinate it. That is the local way, and it usually saves both time and money.
What to ask before you approve any work is the same in every bay, and worth saying plainly. Get the estimate in writing, with parts and labour broken out. Ask whether the parts are new, remanufactured or used, and what the warranty covers and for how long. Ask about the turnaround realistically, because parts delays are part of the trade now, and ask whether the shop can get you to the transit line or if you should plan a ride. Winter tire season arrives every year whether we are ready or not, and the shops that stock sets book out in the fall, so call early.
